This mission marked the first collaboration between The Give Right Foundation and the Early Infant Male Circumcision (EIMC) initiative in Africa. It was a significant milestone in advancing safe, high-quality newborn male circumcision services and proved to be one of the Foundation’s most impactful missions to date.
Key accomplishments included:
- Training 120 nurse-midwives in Early Infant Male Circumcision (EIMC) procedures and best practices.
- Identifying a suitable location, clinical provider, and NGO partner to establish the first SafeCirc Center of Excellence in Africa.
- Training and certifying two healthcare providers in the use of the AccuCirc Reusable Device, which has now entered a four-month pilot implementation phase.
- Collaborating with regional healthcare leaders to develop the first formal midwifery curriculum for Early Infant Male Circumcision.
